New York Trip: Part Four

On my last day in the city, Shane and I (again, Kelsey had to work) slept a bit late and then walked to Shake Shack on the Upper West Side. It is a burger and shake joint that uses high quality ingredients. I  got a plain hamburger with Shake Sauce, pickles, and lettuce with a black and white shake. The burger was definitely worth the hype. It was so tasty and you could tell that the ingredients were good quality because it wasn't overly greasy and heavy. Next, we walked through Central Park towards the Met because I really wanted to see the new fashion exhibit, Punk: Chaos to Couture. I love the Met. When I lived in New York for a summer after a college, I used to spend Saturdays alone, getting lost in the Met. There is something so magical about it. After going through the exhibit, which was awesome, and a few other parts of the museum, we headed downtown a bit to Ladurée to get some macarons! (another must while in NYC) Outside of Paris, I believe this is their only other location. They have, by far, the best macarons I have ever had. My favorites are the pistachio, caramel fleur de sel, and vanilla flavors! Yum! After walking all the way to Ladurée, we were hot and tired, so we walked to a place called Jones Wood Foundry for happy hour. It is a cute little British bar with lots of interesting beers on tap and a cozy atmosphere. We hung out there for a bit and then headed home to relax before our last dinner together. Kelsey got home from work and the three of us went to Jacob's Pickles for dinner. It is a southern food restaurant that has all kinds of house made pickles and preserves. It was great! That concluded my wonderful and eventful trip to New York! Thank you to Kelsey and Shane for being such great hosts! Can't wait to go back again!
